who we are
The Walleye Guys are experienced guides and tournament anglers that enjoy sharing their passion for fishing with others. We strive to provide the best possible experience we can for our clients. Although we have knowledge on many South Dakota waters, our primary fishery is Lewis and Clark Lake near Yankton, SD. When we aren't guiding, we are usually fishing a tournament somewhere in the midwest. We have several years of tournament fishing and experience combined to help ensure we put you on fish.
Lewis and Clark Lake is by far one the most scenic lakes in South Dakota/Nebraska (boundary water) located just 2 hours from Omaha, NE. And 1 hour south of Sioux Falls SD. Yankton is a thriving community with lots of entertainment to offer your family from spring to fall. The US National Archery range is located directly on Lewis and Clark state park ground and offers year around public archery range and shooting trail. Just off the lake, you will find miniature golf, laser tag, the fish hatchery and the scenic overlook of Gavins Point Dam as well as many miles of hiking and biking trails near the lake's shores. There are countless numbers of campsites located on either the Nebraska or South Dakota side with great amenities for any level of camper. If you are not a camper, there are some excellent cabins and resorts available as well. Just let us know what your needs are and we can point you in the right direction.
Lewis and Clark is a great fishery that is highly underrated, mostly because of the national attention Lake Oahe and Lake Francis Case receive. But it should not be overlooked. Lewis and Clark Lake is the home to several Walleye tournaments throughout the year and has a very manageable size limit that allows four walleye/sauger/saugeye at 15” or greater each day. With the lake holding a strong number of sauger, there is always a bite to be on whether it is on the main lake or up the river (chutes). The fall bite on Lewis and Clark is traditionally very good and you have a chance at some very nice fish including some trophies every year. This diverse fishery enables us to offer our clients several different techniques to catch these finicky fish from trolling crank baits to vertical jigging up river. If you are looking to learn a few new methods or to just spend a day enjoying the beautiful scenery this Missouri River tributary has to offer, then let The Walleye Guys guide you to more and bigger fish today.
