Lake Francis Case fishing has been excellent. Loads of fish still coming from the Fort Thompson area on the upper end of the lake. Pitching jigs with plastics such as B-Fish-N Pulsr, Salmo Spikey Shad, Northland Tackle Impulse baits are all working well on current cutter jigs. Look for the jig bite in 5'-10' fow. Live bait jig and minnow bite is great as well. Dragging jigs in the deeper water or in the main channel is working well from Chamberlain up to Fort Thompson. Mark fish, catch fish. Trolling lead core down the main channel is a great way to find some fish and has been very productive with some occasional salmon being caught as well. Shad style baits are working well. Lots of male walleyes are milking so the spawn is underway.
Fort Randal bite continues to be great as those fish begin to spawn. Sauger are in the deeper water near the basin in 20-25' fow. Jig and minnow works great, glide baits like a Puppet Minnow are working as well on those deep water fish. Plan on filtering through lots of small fish with the best time of day being after 4pm. Pitching jigs in the shallow flats on the South side is working well for some healthy walleye but not as many in numbers. Key is to get the bait away from the boat.
