The bite is hot! up at Chamberlain on Lake Francis Case. Fish are everywhere and the year class of fish is better than I have seen in a long time. So good I haven't even caught a fish under 15" yet this season. Most fish are coming in at 16-18" and very healthy with overs (20" or greater) being caught daily as well.
Look for these fish in the shallow (warmer) water and pitching jigs with plastics or minnow is working best. The water is clear so making a long cast can improve your odds. Shallow for me is 5'-8'fow but many fish are also in deeper water as well 12'-15'fow when the shallow bite isn't going due to weather or boat traffic. Lindy rigging or dragging jigs will put fish in the boat as well in this deeper water.
Locations: There are fish everywhere so you do NOT need to fish in the crowds. If there is current look at the flats off directly off the current channel. With no current look for bigger fast further off the channel. Fort Thompson area has a good bite going, Crow Creek, Kiowa and the bite in town is picking up. Typical spots but they are big areas so don't be afraid to explore the area away from the crowd as you will most likely find some fish.
