The bite has been great on Lake Francis Case so far this spring. Best fishing tend to be in the afternoon when the water temps warm up a bit. I mainly focus my spring fishing shallow and have yet to catch a fish under 15". Pitching jig with plastic or minnow is working well. Fish are all over the system right now from 8-14'fow. Keep moving around with your side imaging until you graph pods of fish and keep a distance and cast to them, while retriving your presentation back to the boat slow. YOU CANT GO TO SLOW. Trolling crankbaits on leadcore down the channel or even up on the flats is turning on as well. It won't be long and the walleye will be setting up to spawn in town where casting along any of the rocky shore lines will produce males durring the day and possible a big female into the evening hours. Ice is almost all of the lower end of the lake as well. All boat ramps in Chamberlain are open and from what I've been told ramps are in down in Platte Creek as well.
