The National Team Championship just wrapped up on Lake Francis Case the the lake is putting out record weight for 5 fish limits and the fish are as healthy as I have ever seen them. There is a great class of fish in the the 19-22" range. As always this time of year the tree bite is great and with the use of livescope it has made these fish much easier to target. None the less you can still pull plugs or live bait over the trees and be very effective. The Bay bite is excellent as well but a live scope is paramount to putting your bait directly infront of thier nose of these suspended fish. You can find some smaller eater sized fish in the 10-17' fow water depths working points and back of bays. But you will find many of the bigger fish in 20-40' fow and some will even be deeper. Trees topping out at 40' are a good place to target as well as the mouth of the bays as the fish begin to move out towards deeper water. Jigging raps work great just about anywhere you use them as well as an good ol Jig and big juicy crawler. Plastics and FFS baits such as a Berkly finisher and krej are also producing good fish. If ussing FFS just be patient and keep working the fish until you find the active ones and it can be over quick. The bites seems sto be best from Dock 44 alway east to the dam. The Winner bridge always holds some good fish throughtout the summer and is a great place for a jig n rap. Platte Creek can be fished all year as many of those fish are resident fish and will always be around and the smallmouth bass fishing in that area is excellent.
