Fall fishing is on fire! Walleye and just about anything else you can set a hook into is on the chomp. Water temps are still in the upper 50's meaing that this will continue for a while and only get better with more big fish coming to the boat. A jig and minnow is always a good go to in the fall and it's producing fish when fisher vertically in the 15-25'fow and near or around structure. The face of the dam is holding lots of fish just inside the river channel edge. Along the SD side of the lake is producing lots of walleye but a bit smaller than the NE side of the lake. Trolling leadcore with large crankbaits along the river channel edge is working best in front of the beaches on the SD and from Wiegand to Walkers on the NE side. Look for some of these fish to be suspeneded and as deep as 35' on some days. The weather will dictate which side to fish and the depth for that day. It it's wind look up shallow and fish higher in the water column in trolling. A few more weeks of good fishing are at ready so get out there and enjoy some of the best fishing of the year.
