If you haven't every ice fished Lewis and Clark you're missing out. A few spots that easily accessible and are usually pretty good especially for getting the kids on fish are the South Dakota side marina as well off the jetty at the break line. If you want to venture out across the lake to target walleye and sauger Walkers area is a great place to find them. The marina will hold all species buy mainly perch and crappie and the access is easy. Small jigs and minnow as well as dead stick with minnow which is usually the best option. Move around until you find the big pods of fish and them work them until they bite and enjoy your time on the ice. Remember there is no such thing as safe ice so always be cautious.

Any idea roughly how thick the ice is? Thinking of coming up there from Omaha this weekend. Will want to go out in the middle to target walleye. Would hate to make the trip if it wasnt worth it. Thanks for all your advice!
