Fishing Reports
Lake Francis Case 813/2026
• The summer bite is in full affect. Fish can be found on main lake points in 13-17' for as well as deeper in the30'-50'fow and in the deep trees. Typical summer time patters are in full force. Including bottom bouncers with slow death rigs or spinners tipped with night crawlers and trolling crankbaits is very effective. Keep moving to find the active fish. Live scoping the fish out of the trees is deadly and fun if you are into that type of fishing, usually just get 1 or 2 fish off a tree and move on to the next but this is great way to chase the bigger fish.

• Water temps are hanging around the low 80's and the fish are eating when conditions are right. There is a lot of bait in the system but the fish are still feeding. Mayflies are a good indicator there are feeding walleye in the area. The most important factor right now is finding good clean water. Some wind and sun and really get the bite turned up. Trolling mid size crankbaits is a great way to find active fish as well as keep the busy with catching the feeding whitebass. Catfish are biting very well. Just find some offshore structure such as a tree and drop a bait straight down on top of them. It's going to be a while until these water temps drop to trigger a fall bite (mid October) but there appears to be plenty of fish in the system to keep anglers happy. It's been a numbers game most of the season with going through a lot of walleye to get your keepers. Great sign for the future of the fishery.
