The BIG fish are biting and it should only get better but as usually this time of year we have a small window of opportunity before the freezing temps arrive. Water temps are finally dropping into the upper 50's and will continue to drop making the bite get even better. If you can bare the colder temps and nasty weather at times, this is some of the best fishing of the year. Hard to beat a jig and minnow rig or a creek chub on a lindy rig or behind a bottom bouncer this time of year. But do not overlook Glide baits such as the Puppet Minnow from Northland Tackle or JigNRaps as they are working as well. The bite around the Walkers area is holding some bigger fish but pure numbers are showing up on the SD side from Gavins boat ramp to the dam. Pulling cranks on leadcore until you find some pods of active fish is a great way to cover some water and target those suspended fish. Salmo Free Divers are awesome this time of year and don't hesitate to go big with your Cranks 9cm and bigger.
