Fishing Reports
Lake Francis Case 7/6/2026
• The summer bite is in full affect. Francis case was putting out some skinny fish but with the recent explosion of bait in the system they should be getting good and plump. Look for walleye in the deep water of the original river channel in the trees. As well as deeper main lake points and suspended in the bays. Pulling bottom bouncers with slow death rigs/crawlers is hard to beat but you will have to sort through a lot of fish. Live scope is the newest way to catch these fish and it's super effective especially when targeting these suspended fish. Jig and a nightcrawler always work but don't be afraid to mix it up with a Jigging rap, Berkley finisher or even a slip bobber.
Lewis and Clark Lake 7/6/2026
• Water temps have risen to the low 80's and the fish are eating. There is a lot of bait in the system but the fish are still feeding. Look for walleye in the river channel targeting 18-25'fow depth as well as shallow humps and weeds near the channel. Jig and crawler as well as trolling small crankbaits such as a Salmo hornet. Fishing up river is also excellent all summer as many of these walleye seek out cooler water with current up stream. Those fish will be hit or miss but should stick around until October.
