The weather is cooling down and the walleye are starting to bite again. We are far from the good day's of fall fishing as water temps are still in the lower 70's but it won't be long with these cooler nights and shorter days. Walleye are mainly on the west end around the weed beds in 2'-6'fow. Dragging jigs and half crawler or Lindy rigs with crawlers are working best. If the surface weeds are not an issue try pulling cranks #7 flicker shads are working best as the shad are about the same size as a #7 right now. You can go further up the chutes and find lots of fish but they are moving daily so you will have to find them each day. The Bass fishing around the weeds is good as well, working Z-man chatter baits has been best for me. The main lake is holding a lot of bait and fish so they are a little tougher to get to bite. Trolling lead core along the old river channel is working best. Pulling Flicker Shads and Northland Rumble Shads is working best. Look for this bite to get stronger as the water temps drop. Weigand to Walkers has been the best but there are lot of fish on the SD side in front of the beaches. Find the bait find the fish, now you just have to get them to bite.
