The bite is on in Chamberlain, SD. Walleye are hungry and anglers are hitting the water is droves. With a couple warm day's last week the crowds at Chamberlain were expected but that didn't hinder the fishing any. Yes you need to be aware of where you are at as well as others to reduce bumping into each other if you choose to fish in the groups. Otherwise the fish didn't seem to mind. Everyday I went I out I was able to get my 4 keepers on my first 4 cast. Most of the fish in the 16-17" size. Some bigger females starting showing up later in the week. Most anglers are fishing the river channel or near the edges of the channel dragging, vertical jigging with minnow or pitching a minnow or plastic. Don't over look the shallow water bite in the afternoon and if the wind blows it can be lights out. Fish can be found everywhere from the School house to the dam. Use your electronics and find the pods of walleye for quick action. But stay on the move as the fish are a little spooky as the water is very clear and fishing pressure is high in the weekends.
