Most the boat ramps are out and the open water season has come to an end. There will still be some open water at Fort Randall most of the winter but bring chest waiters and a friend to launch your boat as the water level will be low. Once the ice is formed fishing at Fort Randall in the boat basin can be a really good bite for walleye, sauger and perch and it's easy to access. Other key locations are the mouth of Pease Creek and up around Dock 44 past Platte. The river takes a while to freeze up good and hopefully there isn't as much snow as last year so we can access it this year. We will keep you posted on the ice fishing at Lake Francis Case.
