The bite on Francis Case is finally starting to pick up to normal spring expectations. Warmer weather is finally settling in and the fish are reacting to it well. Limits are coming fairly easy on most days from Chamberlain down to Platte. Hard to beat a jig and minnow this time of year and pitching it up shallow or in the back of bays may land you a trophy. Trolling lead core down the main channel with #7 Flicker Minnow or Flicker Shads and Shad Raps is working well for numbers of fish. If you located a big pod of walleye vertical jigging them can be productive as well. Most of the fish on the upper end near Chamberlain are spawning or done spawning while many of the walleye near Platte are just starting the spawn. If you prefer plastics over live bait, pitching Zman SlimZ 3" baits, (white) is hot right now. I prefer my plastics in the 2-3" range and use ones that are more buoyant or float to slow down the presentation and you will catch more fish. This bite should continue for a couple more weeks as the water warms up.
